Generally, practices will be held at Oak Park River Forest High School Baseball/Softball fields located at the intersection of Linden and Ontario Streets in Oak Park, IL.
Practices usually start the last week of July with a week of conditioning. Players must complete 10 hours of non-contact practice before wearing full pads and participating in contact drills. Once school begins, many teams take a day off from practice during the week.
Practices range from 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs depending on the levels & coach preference. Initially practices are held from 5:30 pm to approximately 7:30 pm, but may vary at the discretion of the Head Coaches. Later in the season, practices are started earlier due to diminishing light conditions.
The OPRF High School Administration and Board of Education are very supportive of us, but they also ask us to be good neighbors to the families that
own homes near the OPRFHS Fields.
When practices are held on the grass fields, we ask parents dropping off and picking up players to do so on Erie Street, north of the tennis courts, to prevent congestion on Linden.
Please help us pick up litter that occurs from time to time, and have your children return home immediately after practice to minimize our impact on the neighborhood.
