In week 1, Big 10 Bantams had a big 27-7 loss, but also had huge gains.
The Huskies Bantam team had 14 players suited up for their first contest
of the year against the Mundelein Stallions. The Stallions won the toss
and took the opening kick to the endzone to start the game. The Huskies
responded with a 50 yd TD by Demitrius Dortch and an extra point run by
Jack Landis. The scoring flurry was exciting, but the Huskies squad
couldn't keep up the pace. The Stallions put up 3 more scores. The
Stallions couldn't however convert their final extra point. And in the 4th
quarter the Huskies defense put up their first 4 and out against the
Stallions.
Several big runs by Marc Thomas and Malachi Jackson-Collier,
and an interception by Dortch made for an exciting day. The young Huskies
squad held their heads up high as they shook hands with their opponent,
knowing full well that if they see this Stallions team in the playoffs,
the talented Huskies will be a team to reckon with.
Goals of Bantam level are to understand...
